My FUN-tastic Weekend

“It’s not that I keep problems from my friends. It’s just that I always forget about it whenever I’m with them.”

Weekend is really something to look forward to; no classes for students, no work for employees, bonding time, etc. However, for someone like me, it’s just like any other day, aside from the fact that it’s also a break for me from my tutorial stint.

A great and fun weekend is something to look forward to. I was hoping to experience one. And my prayers were heard, I had one, it was outrageously fun!

FRIDAY. It was meant to be a normal day. I went to Goo’s place to have my one-week busted phone checked by his cousin who owned an electronic repair shop. I was hopeful that time that my phone would be fixed after it got wet from the rain, and fortunately, it was fixed. And to check if everything with the phone was alright, I tried all the apps and then called Ta to check if the audio is working fine. We talked over the phone and planned to meet that afternoon after Goo’s examination.

It was final; we would meet by 5:30. I went to Ting’ house (another friend) to inform her about it. Goo initiated to wear our m5 shirt but it ended up with only me and him wearing it.

We went to Ta’s family-owned snack store and hang out there. After a few chat, we decided to have some street foods. I would admit, I was so full that time that I just want to sit down and let it all subside. So, we tried to look for a suitable place where we can relax and talk, and we ended up at Jollibee. Since it would be off to stay there ordering nothing, we decided to eat again.

While eating, I received a phone call from my mom asking me to go home. I remembered, we are bound to go to the wake of my dad’s driver. So, I just told my mom that I will go there directly after finishing my meal. But she told me that I need to change my shirt because red is not allowed. And I just learned that time that it is an old belief.

I changed my shirt and went there, and as expected, boredom killed me to death. I didn’t know anyone aside from my family. So I asked permission from my dad to go ahead and I did.

On my way home, Goo texted me that we would be hanging out at Ta’s place and we’ll make gulaman. That was the first time for us to make gulaman and it was somehow successful; successful in appearance. At least. I went home around 2 am that day.

SATURDAY and SUNDAY. I woke up by 6 in the morning and had to get myself ready for a forum that same morning. I reached the forum, I registered, I did listen to the talk and I bore myself. Thank God Goo texted that he’s heading to G.Mall, so we met and did random things. We visited various electronic stores and after that, we decided to sit down and have some zip of tea at Tealoca. And as expected, we had a blast of laughter.

After G.Mall, Goo volunteered to come with me on my scheduled monthly haircut at Hair Expert Salon. The haircut was great, thanks to Belnor Tayong, my official hairstylist for years now. Actually, I’m a also planning to have my facial treatment that day but decided to reschedule it.

Everytime I have my haircut, next thing I would really do is go home and take a bath. I just hate the after-haircut feeling. It makes me feel conscious and uneasy. But that day was different, after haircut, we went to Ta’s place and had our late lunch, then had street foods again. I just love it.

That day, we are planning a sleepover at Goo’s place since his parents went out of town. So, we went to their place and as usual, since chatting and eating are our two main habits, we did enjoy doing it. Everyone’s on their hype when Toi came in with Ta, but Ta went home earlier since she was not allowed to stay so much late. That night was filled with so much fun and futility. We ate then we slept, we woke up then ate then slept, then the chain continued. I guess, playing x-box and facebooking were the only interventions we had.

Maybe around 2 am, we decided to go out to look for other foods, so we went to nearby convenience store and needless to say, we did eat again. I actually fell asleep ahead than everybody, around 3 am, I guess.

We woke up around 7 am, Toi and Goo prepared breakfast and we ate. After breakfast, we watched TV (Britain’s Next Top Model), then went back to sleep again. We woke up by lunch, went out to a food house blocks away from Goo’s under the scorching heat of the sun, and just to find out that they’re not operating on Sundays. Persistent as we are, we finally found food for lunch, so we ate, then we slept. (I know what you’re thinking. LOL)

I went home earlier than everybody. When I got home, I took a bath, rested for a few minutes, and the next thing I knew, it’s already 6 in the evening, I fell asleep. I just ate my dinner and went back to sleep.

If you think that’s all for my weekend, well, you’re wrong.

MONDAY. That day was so much unexpected. I woke up around 8:30 and ran some errands for that day.  Surprisingly, Goo texted me asking what’s the best stress distraction. I then replied telling him that I don’t know and that I’m needing the same thing. So he suggested to go to the beach and I agreed with no second thoughts. We met around 12 noon and got to Mahan Beach Resort around 1 pm; we ate (as usual), we chat, and then we took some pictures, then we head home and that’s it. It was like 3 hours but it seemed to help me a lot. It was so relaxing and peaceful.

The night of that same day, Goo went to our house and stayed there, we texted Ta to come over but she can’t, so we went to their place instead. It was fun because we did scan some one-year-old pictures of ours that brought so much fun and euphoria. The rain spoiled our moment that night so we went home. Monday became my extended weekend and t’was great.

A four-day weekend with friends, different places, different trips, different emotions, but all’s well that ends well, and I can say that I had the longest weekend of my life. And everything had contributed to my disposition today, right at this very moment as I write this blog entry.

Time is of the essence and it’s gonna be your choice how to make the most out of it. I’m happy and that’s all that matters now.

Cheers!
